Cuban Kitchen

About the Business

Specialties

Save the airfare, come taste a slice of Havana right here in the Bay Area at the home of the "best" Cubano sandwich & more! We prepare authentic Cuban cuisine with a nod to our ancestors' sazón, while evolving to higher standards with hand-trimmed, freshly prepared cuts of meats, veggies, and classic Cuban sides and beverages. This is the Cuban 'evolution - we are QBA, a Cuban Kitchen.

History

Established in 2009.

From humble mobile-food beginnings in the New Jersey and New York area, Cuban-American, Lynna Martinez has had a vision to bring authentically flavored Cuban cuisine to as many people as possible, fast & fresh. We take pride in our food, service and training. Since opening our store in San Mateo, July 2015, we quickly became recognized as the Bay Area's favorite Cuban caterer and most authentic Cuban restaurant in the Bay Area.

Business Owner

qba (pronounced "cuba"), Cuban kitchen was conceived by Cuban-American Lynna Martinez. She began developing the idea for the world's first Cuban QSR while growing up in Miami, FL. By 1993, she had written the first formal business plan for qba, while attending The Darden School of Business at University of Virginia. With a young daughter, mother and younger sister to take care of, plus the need to pay off student loans, Lynna opted for a job as an investment banker straight out of business school to help pay the bills. qba, a Cuban kitchen, would have to wait.Lynna relocated to the Bay Area in 2013 and  in 2015 she was offered an opportunity to launch a brick-n-mortar version of her Food Truck in the beautiful town of San Mateo! We look forward to having you as our guest in our Cuban Kitchen on El Camino Real!Gracias, y Buen Provecho!
