About the Business

Specialties

Great neighborhood restaurant specializing in breakfast dishes -- available every minute we're open! -- and delicious double burgers, sandwiches, and salads. Have a traditional American meal or try one of our special twists, including our special family recipe BBQ sauce or homemade salsa. Under new ownership that is recapturing the original feel of the restaurant, we'll be bringing back some old menu favorites.

History

Established in 2003.

Jim Bolin grew up in Huntington Beach during the surfing craze. In the 80s, he moved inland and discovered his inner Cowboy. The 90s found Jim, a long-time restaurant executive, settled in Corona but dreaming of having his own place. As the new century unfolded, Jim built his dream and The Cowboy Surfer Grill was born! In 2005, Steven Botkin & Kathy Munson rekindled their high school romance and got married, moving Steve to Corona. He soon discovered this unique dining establishment and declared his dream to own a place just like it. He is, after all, a cowboy surfer as well, having split his adult life between San Diego and Wyoming. Steve had not quite sold Kathy on the idea in 2008 when Jim retired, and so the Lee family purchased it and Loretta took up the reins. In 2015, Steve finally realized his dream and became the proud owner of the Cowboy Surfer Grill! He looks forward to leading the Cowboy Surfer into its next chapter.

Business Owner

Steve grew up in the Central Valley admiring John Wayne, listening to the Beach Boys, and watching Frankie and Annette. During the 80s, he found his way to the beaches of San Diego, where he worked in retail management, restaurants, and the grading industry while starting a family of foodies. He spent most of the 90s in Wyoming and then moved back to San Diego. In 2005, Steve rekindled lost love and moved to Corona, where he discovered this wonderful dining establishment and declared it his dream to own a place just like it. He is, after all, a cowboy surfer as well. In January 2015, his dream came true!
