Chelokababi Persian Cuisine has grown quite a bit since we first opened our doors in 1979, but we are still a family-owned restaurant, and our spacious dining room is still beautifully decorated with traditional paintings, rugs, and Persian arches. We have also maintained our love for great service and showing our guests an authentic Persian dining experience. You'll choose from aromatic dishes prepared in the same traditional way used in Iran for generations. And with our catering and private event spaces, we are a perfect destination for any corporate or family event.

History

Established in 1979.

Chelokababi is a family owned and operated restaurant that dates back to 1979. It was started by Mohammad and Ashraf Rahbar shortly after they arrived in the United States from Iran, trying to re-establish their life after leaving everything behind during the revolution. The first few years Chelokababi was in business, it occupied only the area that is now the lobby, and featured simple counter service. The entire restaurant only had three picnic tables for customers to dine-in. During the busy lunch period, it was not uncommon to pull into the parking lot and see groups of happy people standing around and socializing while enjoying their kabob on the hoods of their cars. Well, certainly things have changed since the early days. In 1984, Chelokababi expanded into the area next door, metamorphosing into the full-service establishment that we all know and love today.

Maryam's family first founded Chelokababi, and she's proud to continue building on her family's legacy. She runs the restaurant with her family and her team, and she loves every part of it. Running a restaurant comes very naturally to her. She enjoys building connections with her customers and making people feel welcomed.
