Casa Córdoba
About the Business
Specialties
As Spanish restaurants are underrepresented in the Los Angeles area, food from Spain may be new to some guests. We describe the cuisine as European with a Mediterranean flair and Moorish (North African) influences. The Spanish table encourages sharing for all guests at the table. Our food is served family style. You will find that each dish has its own unique flavor profile so perfect for sharing. We take great care in using the finest ingredients whether importing from Spain or using the freshest items locally. Guests always ask about our paella. Our interpretation of paella is that is always prepared and presented in the paella pan. The Valencian rice is a thin layer to ensure even cooking with the traditional "socorrat," crispy on the bottom. The paellas require high quality local products mixed with imported ingredients which makes the paella expensive to produce. They are always made to order from scratch. We are well known for our Sangrias, both red and white. Our wine selections represent unique indigenous grape varietals. We also offer our chef's selection of craft beers.
History
Established in 2013.
Casa Córdoba is named after Córdoba, Spain, (pronounced Core-though-ba) which was once the highly educated Capital of the Moorish empire and one of the most advanced cities in the world in the 10th and 11th centuries. Due to the hot, dry climate, patios in Córdoba, which date back to the Romans as a way to keep cool with plants and water, are celebrated. Each year the residents of Córdoba participate in a colorful Spring patio contest sponsored by the city. The iron doors are open and everyone is invited in to see the wonders of Córdoba's patios. We have transformed Zwick Plaza to bring a taste of Romaneque/Moorish Spain and our love of Spanish culture to Montrose. Come dine in our courtyard or inside in our decorated themed rooms. Take a piece of Spain home from our Spanish giftware collection featuring table ceramics, paella pans, kitchenware, olive oils among other items imported from Spain. We invite you to "Escape to Spain" in Los Angeles!
