We have a fantastic menu of classic American dishes all year round as well as special holiday and weekend items. For breakfast try our handmade blintzes with blueberry sauce. We also have specialty pancakes, malted waffles and real Vermont and Canadian maple syrups. Lunch and Dinner includes a variety of sandwiches and burgers, french fries, sweet potato fries and great salads and entrées. All of our burgers are hand formed - never frozen - and made fresh on our grill in site of the whole restaurant. We also have over forty specialty shakes on the menu - each one like nothing you'll find elsewhere. Some examples include a Date & Honey Shake, Elvis Shake, an amazing Key Lime shake and our Coffee Banana Malt. This is just a small sample of what we do, so come in for the full experience.

History

Established in 1989.

Cafe 50's, located at 11623 Santa Monica Blvd. in Los Angeles, California, is a great place for food, folks and fun. Even though it wasn't always Cafe 50's the main room of our location has been a diner and coffee-shop since the 1940s - with 70 years of service we are not a fake retro diner! The second "memorabilia" room was originally a barber shop and is now filled with posters, ads and vintage 50's nostalgia. Cafe 50's is located on Historic Route 66. You can get shirts and merchandise like vintage postcards and Route 66 pins. We also have classic gum ball machines, vintage comics and classic board games. We have Daily Specials that will remind you of great traditional American cooking. Since 1982, Cafe 50's has been the neighborhood diner that will bring you back in time. Craig is one of the owners of Cafe 50's and can usually be found around the restaurant on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. He is a fountain of 50's trivia and can tell you more details about the memorabilia and vintage Americana than you'd believe. Besides Cafe 50's Craig is a world traveller who's lived in places as diverse as Shanghai, Munich and of course Southern California. Stop by and say hi!
