History

Established in 1990.

Robert Simon opening Bistro 45 in 1990 after owning and operating with his father the very successful Cafe Jacoulet in Old Pasadena.

Business Owner

For over 35 years, Robert has been a restaurateur, wine judge, and proponent of personalized, memorable dining experiences in his restaurants. He has a great passion for being "the house of yes" and for imbuing his establishments with a strong sense of purpose and dedication all geared toward the satisfaction and pleasure of each guest. He has been coming to Napa Valley since his early days at Chez Panisse and Narsai's restaurants while at UC Berkley, beginning in 1973. He, his wife Deborah, and even his children, can be seen working the front of the house at a/k/a (An American Bistro).
