Serving Arizona Style Mecican Food: Traditional Mexican with Navajo/Hopi influences. The Chimichangas are the house specialty - real Sopapilla Masa folded around Shrimp, Beef, Chicken or Green Chili & Beans, lightly fried then served Enchilada Style with Spanish Rice or Beans or a Guacamole Salad. Magnifico! Of course, you'll also find all your Mexican favorites including Fajitas, Tacos, Enchiladas, Tamales and more. El Rincon Margaritas are out of this world. "It's the homemade sweet & sour that makes them legendary," says Demetrio, founder and owner, just add your favorite tequila and/or one of our many flavors. Regulars say, "They're the best Margaritas anywhere" added Demetrio. Popular flavors include Prickly Pear, Strawberry, Jalapeño, and Coconut.

How did El Rincon and Arizona Style Mexican Food come to be? Arizona Style Mexican Cuisine is a little know regional cuisine of central Arizona. Owner Demetrio was introduced to Arizona Style by an old friend and Chef, Senor Santillan in the early 70's. The love of silver turquoise jewelry, fine food and tequila is what brought Demetrio and Senor Santillan together. Demetrio and Senor Santillan are both silversmiths and chefs. Senor Santillan was born and raised on Cleopatra Hill in Jerome AZ. His family dates to the 1920's when the United Verde Copper Mine was in full production and Jerome was bustling mining town. Senor's father was full blooded Castilian Mexican and his mother, Mai was a Navajo Medicine Woman. Spending wonderful time together making jewelry in the day and in the evening cooking, eating and laughing with them at their home in the Jerome Gulch taught me all about Mai's Navajo influence on Senor's Mexican food recipes.
