History

Established in 1989.

Damiano moved to Tucson with his family in 1965 from Nardodipace, Italy. In 1972 the Damiano Ali family opened there first restaurant (Paesano's) on Speedway and Park with Damiano's brother Cosmo. Then in 1975 the family opened Damiano's Italian Cuisine on Stone Avenue. In 1989 the Damiano family decided to move north and open there current restaurant in Oro Valley, under the name of Michelangelo Ristorante Italiano. Vincenzo, Franco, and Giuseppe (Damiano's sons) have revamped the concept in 2017, and updated the name to Bottega Michelangelo.
