Traditional Northeastern Thai cuisine that is not only good, but good for you. Many gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and low-fat options. Thian's former restaurants all received high praises and reviews, and she brought this same excellence to Bonney Lake and surrounding communities. Excellent food + excellent service + reasonable prices = excellent value. You will be more than pleased.

History

Established in 2004.

(Thian opened her first U.S. restaurant, The Green Papaya Thai Cuisine, in 1999. It was voted in the top 3 of all Asian restaurants in Reno, NV.) Upon opening Thian Thai, business was good from the beginning, with the help of a little advertising in the first year. After that the restaurant relied solely on customer's returning and recommending it to relatives, friends and associates. Four months of street construction that limited access and the downturn in the economy had no effect on business, which has continued to grow over the years.

Thian grew up in a cooking family in a village in Thailand on the Mekong River, bordering Laos.  None of her extended family had ever attended college and many had not finished high school.  Her sisters migrated to Bangkok where they operate a small restaurant.  But Thian had a bigger dream.  She found a way to get a degree in Physics, and obtained a job at a prestigious school in Bangkok teaching high school Physics, Math and Science.  While visiting an aunt in Seattle she was introduced to George, they were later married, and proceeded to develop and operate restaurants and espresso shops--in Reno, Tacoma, Ocean Shores, and currently in Bonney Lake.
