Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar received the followed awards: Best Bar Program AWARD OF PRESTIGE 2008 Best Wine List (301 - 1000 Selections) AWARD OF PRESTIGE 2008 The National Restaurant Association named Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar as one of the winners, on the state level, of its 10th Annual Restaurant Neighbor Award for Commitment to Community Service. The awrd is given to restuaruants to recognize outstanding community service through food donations, disaster relief, health-related causes, youth developement programs and other charitable activities. Chef John Howie is pleased to announce that in 2006, 2007 and 2008 Erik Liedholm and the Seastar Wine Program was recognized by The Wine Spectator with the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence. One of only two such awards in the eastside.

Chef/Owner John Howie, formerly of Palisade Restaurant in Seattle, opened Seastar Restaurant & Raw Bar in downtown Bellevue, March 11, 2002. Chef Howie was the opening chef and driving force behind the popular Magnolia restaurant. Opened in June 1992, Palisade became a landmark restaurant. During his tenure at Palisade he was invited three times to prepare meals at the James Beard House in New York City. He was featured on Martha Stewart Living Television, CBS Early Morning Show, and Northwest Cable News. Chef Howie's expertise with Pacific Northwest fresh fish and seafood has been a mainstay of the Palisade menu. His popular annual October promotion "Waters of the World" has allowed him to experiment and discover great seafood products from all corners of the world as well.Chef Howie's signature culinary style includes using the finest fresh Northwest products, imparting subtle flavors to the foods using unique cooking technologies and an eclectic variety of global cuisines.
