History

Established in 1999.

Mr. Sanjay Sharma combined his 28 years of experience in the restaruant business with his love for people to begin Masala of India Cuisine. Mr. Sharma is celebrating the10th anniversary of Masala of India Cuisine. With the continuing support of his loyal customers base and the addition of new customers Mr. Sharma is looking for many more successful years for Masala of India Cuisine.

Business Owner

Sanjay was born in India the youngest of nine children. His father started his first restaurant in 1927. Sanjay began washing dishes in the family business when he was 9 years old. At 13 he began his cooking career and his passion for owning his own restaurant began. Sanjay moved to Canada in 1981. Between 1981 and 1988 Sanjay helped open restaurants from Ottawa to Vancouver. In 1988 Sanjay moved to Seattle and began working in the local Indian restaurants as a chef. 1991 saw Sanjay, along with a partner, fulfilled his dream and opened up his own restaurant (i.e. India Cuisine) in the Wallingford district. Although this partnership ended within a year Sanjay was not discouraged. For the next 6 years Sanjay worked as a chef at several Seattle area companies. In 1997, he became the sole owner of the Sabhah restaurant in Vancouver but sold it 1999. An opportunity presented itself to Sanjay in 1999 and the result was Masala of India Cuisine and the rest his history!
