Established in 1952.

The original Burgermaster was founded near the University of Washington by Phil Jensen in 1952. He had a love of good food and good people, and believed strongly in giving the customer the best deal around. Phil was passionate about quality ingredients and led Burgermaster to being one of the first restaurants around to serve grass-fed beef! From the start, Burgermaster has been an institutional drive-in that focuses on family and community. Since 1952, the restaurants have been passed down through several generations of the Jensen family, and still hold true to their core values. Business Owner

Alex Jensen is the grandson of our founder, Phil Jensen.  He has grown up in our restaurants and began his first official job at the old Lynnwood location at the age of 12.  Alex has worked in all positions in the restaurant, and is now the President and Chief Operations Officer of Burgermaster.
