History

Established in 1949.

In 1949, Captain Lynn Campbell started the Spring Street Water Taxi with his first vessel. The following year, a new boat was purchased and Campbell began regularly scheduled tours of the Seattle harbor in Elliott Bay. In 1951 the company was renamed Seattle Harbor Tours, the the vessel Harbor Tourist began operating the tour. In 1962, the year of the Seattle World's Fair, Seattle Harbor Tours started service to Tillicum Village on Blake Island. Since these early days, Seattle Harbor Tours has transformed into Argosy Cruises (1994) offering premier sightseeing cruises and annual special events including the Christmas Ship™ Festival. We also offer private charters for weddings, corporate parties, birthdays, and school events.
