Homemade Wheat and White bread made DAILY along with Peach Cobbler, Brownies, and Mom's Bread Pudding with Jack Daniels Bourbon sauce! DAILY Lunch specials too! Sizzling Tenderloin Steaks, Fish and Chicken grilled to order! Mac n Cheese, Creamy Potato salad, Chunky Cole Slaw and Pinto beans. Full kids menu - Vegetarian and Gluten Free Items!

History

Established in 1975.

Our location was the old "Moose Head Lodge" that served steak dinners and bootleg whiskey in the early 30's. It was then purchased by a big time gambler who built the exisiting building and named it "Cedar Crest Lodge." It became a very popular gambling house. In 1975 partners Bruce Walcutt, Rick Goss, Ed Norton, along with Skeeter Miller brought new life to the old lodge by re-opening as the now Legendary "County Line Barbeque"! One of the biggest arguments was whether they could afford a $9.95 Veg-O-Matic in those early days! Luckily we were reviewed by Texas Monthly and the rest as they say,...is history! There are two Austin locations, two in San Antonio, along with our El Paso State Line, and two Houston stores, and last but not least, one in Albuquerque NM. Each is located in a special area that always offers a kind of "get-away" feeling when you dine with us! It's BBQ so good you just got to "Git it all over ya!"

Hello! My name is Orlando Sosa. I am the General Manager at County Line on the Hill. I have been with County Line since 1985. I started working as a bar back at the Lake location. I fell in Love with this Family Friendly Restaurant. Slowly moved my way up to a server, then to a Kitchen Manager and now General Manager at the Hill Location as of 2018. We have Great BBQ, Staff, Atmosphere, Hill Country Views. This is the place to go for any one looking to experience what "Austin Beauty" means.
