We like things spicy, so we turned up the heat on some of the best damn fried chicken and ribs in the country. You choose the heat level, and we’ll fire it up.   We also offer incredible sides to complement our hand-battered chicken tenders and applewood smoked ribs, from traditional fries and mac & cheese to Texas caviar and cole slaw. Make sure you try one of our salads, as well. The Cookshack salad and the kale chicken salad are exceptional. “I love the restaurant business, it’s something I’ve been involved in since I was 13,” says 35-year-old Stephen Payne, one of the owners of The Cookshack. “I have genuine passion for food and running a restaurant, and naturally that lead me to our new concept.”“Owning a restaurant means having to be very hands-on. It takes a lot of hard work, too, but I don’t mind. I’ll do whatever needs doing – prep, cook, wait tables, serve drinks, clean up, whatever. I just love what I do!”
