All of our burgers can be made with a chicken breast or a Veggie burger, if you prefer. We serve all burgers with a mix of sweet potato fries and regular fries OR if you are an onion rings fan, we make some of the BEST.

History

Established in 2006.

Phil's Ice House is named for Phil Clay, a longtime Amy's Ice Creams employee and partner. He was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident in 2003. So people would not forget Phil, Amy, of Amy's Ice Creams, decided to name the burger place after Phil. The original Phil's Ice House is located in what once was Otis Hill's Enco gas station. In 2004 Amy bought the property to move the Amy's factory. (It is behind Phil's in the former Allandale Post Office).

Amy M.

Business Owner

Hey, It's Amy from Amy's Ice Creams! It was decided about ten years ago to try something different and I embarked on a journey to build the BEST burger, much like I did with ice cream 25 years ago. After visiting and trying the most popular and least-known burger places around, finding out the things others raved about, and finding out the things I would do differently the result was Phil's Ice House! Phil's is named after a partner of Amy's Ice Creams, Phil Clay, who passed away after a motorcycle accident. Phil's Ice House is a living memorial to a man who was a HUGE part of Amy's Ice Creams. We are now three restaurants strong and are looking forward to serving the Austin community with the best burgers and service possible.
