Business Owner

Chef Pieter Sypesteyn knows what it means to miss New Orleans.  He spent much of his life in the NOLA kitchens of his parents' restaurants where he began to fall in love with the culture and cuisine of his home city.  Sypesteyn's first industry job was at the Los Angeles Country Club in Beverly Hills.  He later moved to San Antonio where he worked under Chefs Thierry Burkle and Andrew Weissman before branching out on his own.  His first solo venture was opening the Where Y'at Food Truck which served traditional New Orleans cuisine. He then opened The Cookhouse, specializing in modern New Orleans' fare served in a classic cookhouse setting.  Next up was NOLA Brunch and Beignets, which made beignets a staple in the San Antonio brunch scene.  NOLA was followed closely by Bud's Southern Rotisserie, which serves up Southern Comfort food daily at San Antonio's first food hall, The Bottling Department located at the Pearl.
