Established in 1994.
Khyber was the brainchild of Mickey Kapoor . After starting three other Indian restaurants in Houston , he saw that the regional food of the mountains of northwest India was not represented in the city . The cuisine of the mountains is generally chicken , lamb and game cooked over an open flame , charcoal tandoori oven , or a grill . The food is very lean ,uniquely flavored , not overly spicy hot and lightly cooked . The concept was met with great appreciation and the restaurant has maintained a record of resounding success for 24 years .

Mikhil Kapoor has been in the restaurant business for 45 years . He has owned and operated 5 Indian restaurants in New York and Houston since 1978 . Khyber has been in business for 30 years serving up some of Houston’s best north Indian food with an array of grilled meats , a variety of curries , sauces , vegetables and desserts . In a bistro like setting khyber also has an impressive selection of wines and beers . Come enjoy !
