About the Business
Specialties
Hutchins BBQ is a Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ restaurant with delicious smoked meat, sides and desserts. Come hang out, eat some authentic Texas BBQ and enjoy the atmosphere.
History
Established in 1978.
Opened in Princeton, Texas in 1978 by McKinney native Roy Hutchins, the restaurant quickly outgrew its original site. Since 1990 Hutchins has called the intersection of Hwy. 380 (University Drive) and Tennessee Street home. As a youth, Roy Hutchins worked for a longtime McKinney institution, King's Barbecue. Later, combining that experience with many subsequent years in the food industry, he decided to focus his knowledge and expertise upon crafting the best barbecue possible. Hutchins' product succeeded greatly and his children, seeing the care their father put into his work, followed him into the business. In the past ten years, Hutchins has been named on Texas Monthly's Top 50 Barbecue Joints list twice and named by USA Today as one of the Top 10 Brisket Sandwiches in Texas.

This food was not good at all. No flavor at all. The place was clean. The people weren't the friendliest. I took a few bites of item and discarded the rest.
