Welcome to Smokin Thighs, Nashville’s favorite smoked chicken joint since 2012. While everyone else in this town is playing burnout, we have a different approach to chicken deliciousness: we believe slow and low’s the way to go. Our founder, Matthew Carney, was always the guy on the grill at backyard get-togethers. During those summery afternoons, he developed a love for cooking great chicken and entertaining friends, family and his community. Come and see us!

Matthew is an ambitious self-starter who thrives on bettering himself, others, and the local community.  He is the founder of Smokin Thighs, LLC, and focuses primarily on smoking and grilling poultry products without using a fryer for the streets of Nashville.After graduating with a recording engineering degree in 2002, Matthew took a turn in his career and worked in sales for the local Nashville manufacturing industry.  Though he enjoyed his job and fellow co-workers, Matthew was inspired by his friends and family that continually complimented him on his ability to make some great grilled food in anyones kitchen.  Matthew has had success in the past and plans to use that success with Smokin Thighs LLC, Full Time.  He decided to take a full-time leap into entrepreneurship in January 2012.Matthew has lived in Nashville over 1/3 of his life, and currently lives in South Nashville.  When he isn't at his smoker and grill, you can catch him boating on Nashville's Percy Priest Lake.
