Specialties
¡Bienvenidos a todos! As local Chef Hector's debut restaurant, Salsa's serves Mexican-Caribbean cuisine that's fresh, funky, and always delicious. Combining local ingredients with exciting flavors from two cultures we hold dear, we cook with care -- just like Hector's grandmother did. Sip on a Mezcal Margarita, bite into a savory burrito, or share one of our signature salsas with corn tortilla chips. Feeling bold? Try a Pom-Pom-Pom with slow-roasted pork, rice, beans, greens, pineapple chutney, curry sauce, and smoked salsa made in a traditional Puerto Rican Pilón. We've been voted as Asheville's favorite choice for Latin cuisine the last 15 years, and we can't wait to show you why.
History
Established in 1994.
Hector's Salsa's started out as a take-out service, selling creative burritos out of a little window in the kitchen. Hector was able to grow by adding a few tables outside so folks could sit and eat. He was known to put a table in the kitchen so guests could sit and watch their food being prepared! With the cold weather getting in the way of sitting comfortably outside and Hector wanting to share his Puerto Rican roots, his destiny was to expand. The location next to him was offered, and a dining room was created. Since then, he has been blessing us with his innovative and creative blend of cooking styles from his travels around the globe. If you are a lover of food and a lover of Asheville, you truly have to experience his creations. They are like no other. We thrive on using hormone and antibiotic-free meats as well as the freshest produce from our local farmer's market.

From the moment he was able to work as a young teenager he had his feet planted in restaurants. Working his way up the ranks from a bus boy in New York city to a chef, he was able to realize his passion, food. Hector worked at many great restaurants in New York and Miami until he landed in Asheville in the late 80s. Here is where Hector felt at home, in the mountains of western North Carolina. It reminded him of where he was raised, his childhood home in the mountains of Puerto Rico. After losing his job at a restaurant in 1994, Hector was walking down the street wondering how he was going to feed his 2 young children at home with no job. As he was walking, he came across a man who offered him a chance to turn his little spot into something great. With the generosity of the community Hector began his odyssey of restaurant ownership. He currently owns three, and t
