Enjoy simple food done well at its uncomplicated best. We are Rhubarb - a unique farm-to-table restaurant in Asheville, NC. Enjoy locally sourced, made-in-house dishes made with ingredients that come directly from nearby farms and our farm partners. Our extensive menu features proteins from rabbit to eggs, as well as produce and herbs that come from within 30 miles. Plus, mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard are the only non-house items we use. Business Owner

As executive chef and owner of Rhubarb and The Rhu, Chef John Fleer brings his impressive culinary reputation and more than two decades of experience to the Asheville restaurant scene. He began his culinary career humbly, working in kitchens to pay for graduate school at UNC. His passion for the restaurant industry ignited and he enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America.After graduation, John joined the team at Blackberry Farm and served as executive chef from 1992 - 2007. Under Fleer's leadership, the Tennessee destination was honored by Zagat in 2003 and 2004, as number one small hotel and number two hotel dining in America. Opening Rhubarb in October 2013 was the next step in John's journey. Rhubarb brings the relaxed atmosphere of his previous pastoral posts to Pack Square and broadens his approach to freestyle American cuisine. In 2016, Fleer opened The Rhu, a bakery café and pantry where the abundance of locally grown and crafted products are available for purchase.
