Mable's Smokehouse was opened by husband and wife team, Meghan Love & Jeff Lutonsky.  While both pursuing careers in the arts, they decided to change paths and take the gamble of opening a restaurant in New York City.  Jeff, having grown up in his mother's restaurants and on his father's cattle farm in Oklahoma, always knew he wanted to cook authentic slow-smoked BBQ and classic Southern sides true to his roots.  Armed with his grandmother Mable's recipes and a small inheritance from his mom's passing, the two set out to open the Williamsburg Brooklyn BBQ joint.     They built the bar, every table and did all the work in the restaurant that could be done without a license.  With the help of friends and family they did all the tiling, the drywall and the carpentry.  With a focus on Southern Hospitality, the result is a roadhouse, honky tonk oasis that leaves you feeling like you're no longer in NYC.
