We are unique and special to the community in which we serve. Our restaurant is distinctively known to many locals as a melting pot, in which all walks of life travel to on a daily basis to enjoy a home cooked delicious breakfast or lunch at an affordable price while experiencing a family like atmosphere where everyone knows your name. We serve classic American diner food and homemade southern style dishes served up right when generous portions tailored to your requests. Our customers can't get enough of our delicious homemade corn beef hash, grits, omelets, pancakes, meat loaf and daily food specials. Our award-winning burgers, wraps and salads are truly outstanding, especially paired with one of our famous fresh brewed sweet ice teas or milkshakes. You will definitely want to save room for some of our very own diner-made pies. Our menu has something for everyone, including plenty of lighter-fare and unique diner specialties you won't find anywhere but at Walter's. Established in 1965.

Established in 1965 in Long Island, NY Moved to Miami, Fl in 1978 Moved to current location in Miami, Fl in 1988 Remodeled in 2013 Upon opening it's doors in Miami, Walter's or The Shop, as it is affectionately referred to, quickly became known as more than just a family-friendly dining establishment: many of it's customers frequented the restaurant because it offered something different, something intangible: acceptance, comfort and camaraderie. No matter your gender, race or occupation: at Walter's everyone was family, and Walter loved his community. He was active in the local chamber of commerce and played an instrumental role in the rebulding of Perrine after Hurricane Andrew. Perhaps that's why he earned the nickname, "Mayor of Perrine". Walk into The Shop today and you'll find the same intimate, yet relaxed atmosphere very much alive in the quaint, yet bustling restaurant. Daughter Grace and her Husband Lenny took over the restaurant in 1994, when Walter and Jo finally retired
