About the Business
Specialties
Spanish Marie Brewery was born in 2013, debuting with a gold medal at a local homebrew competition for the Colada Porter. The team poured their latest brews and pairings at every event from Brew at the Zoo in Miami to Hogtown in Gainesville. After a year of searching, a home was established in The Hammocks, Florida in 2015, and the journey continued. With the support of local commissioners, ordinances in Unincorporated Miami Dade were changed to allow breweries to sell alcohol in their taprooms. A vintage “frankenbrew” system was then purchased from a closed brewpub in Salina, Kansas and retrieved from an abandoned WWII military barracks. After 3 years, of hard work Spanish Marie finally opened its doors in 2018 and now serves some of Miami's best brews using a 1955 dairy tank as a mash tun. Spanish Marie is 100% independently owned and operated by Alby & Jaime, two long-time friends and craft beer fanatics. These two have built Spanish Marie from the ground up, literally and figuratively, handling everything from demolition and pouring concrete to putting up dry wall and light fixtures. Over the years they have fostered a growing community, feeling fortunate to be able to share their passion with the world. They're always around so say "Hi" whenever you see them walking around. So, come on by and join the family for a cold one and a few stories of the journey.
History
Established in 2013.
Spanish Marie Brewery came together in 2013, making our debut winning our 1st homebrewing competition for our colada porter. We have been to events everywhere from Brew at the Zoo to Hogtown, serving craft beers and pairings. We found our home in the Hammocks in 2015, and the journey continued. With the support local commissioners, we changed ordinances in Unincorporated Miami Dade to allow breweries to sell alcohol in their taprooms. We purchased our frankenbrew system from a defunct brewpub, and retrieved it from an abandoned military barracks in Salina, Kansas. After 3 years, we finally opened our doors to the public and now serve Miami's best using our vintage mash tun, a repurposed dairy tank from 1955. So come on by and join us for a cold one, as we share our stories of our journey and Spanish Marie.

Alby C. and Jaime M.
Business Owner
Spanish Marie is 100% independently owned and operated by Alberto & Jaime, two long-time friends and previous business partners. Jaime has over 10 years experience working at Titanic Brewery, one of Miami's oldest & longest running brewpubs, where he learned firsthand all areas of the brewpub business. Jaime's passion for craft beer is highlighted by the 10 years of award-winning homebrewing under his belt. Alberto, has been a self-taught serial entrepreneur since he was 12 years old, opening his first business at 19. A jack-of-all-trades and a master of some, he combines his business and integrated marketing skills with his love for craft beer, to tell the story of Spanish Marie. He has stopped at nothing to open Kendall's 1st brewery and changed the local brewery landscape in the process, opening the doors for others to come. "When people talk about the "craft beer community", they tend to emphasize "craft beer", when the emphasis is actually on "community".
