History

Established in 2005.

The first El Toro Bravo was established in Roswell, New Mexico in 1982. We moved to Florida in 2002. We opened in Sarasota in 2005. We take pride in serving the most fresh and tastiest New Mexican cuisine in the area. Chef Ruben selects the healthiest ingredients to provide tasty and high quality Mexican food. There is no lard in our recipes. We serve romaine lettuce. Our chips are fried in canola oil. The fajitas are sauteed in olive oil creating a fresh taste. When possible, we bring long green Anaheim chiles and red dry chiles from the chile capital of the world HATCH, New Mexico! Our flan is made from scratch using our homemade recipe. Ruben and Connie Caban, Owners, and three sons moved to Sarasota in 2002 from Roswell, NM. The first El Toro Bravo was established in 1982 in Roswell by Ruth & David Wise, Ruben's sister.   Ruben desired to establish his own business in Florida, closer to his roots in Puerto Rico.  The southwest cuisine , features flavors from Texas, California, Arizona, Colorado,  & NM.  Our family is grateful for the  support and love of friends, neighbors and loyal guests.  Over the years we have been honored to receive awards of Best Mexican Restaurant, Best Taco and Best Margarita!  It's our privilege to serve you and call Sarasota our home.
