History

Established in 1982.

Checkers Old Munchen was started by Detlef Neuman in 1982. He was a Chef at a 5 start rated hotel in Munich. He passed away and his tradition and recipes have been continued by Mathew Moore, who has owned the restaurant since 2007. In 2012, Checkers Old Munchen had a fired and was closed for 9 months. We gutted the entire restaurant and built a new restaurant with the same charm. In 2015, Checkers Old Munchen was named Best German Restaurant by New Times.
