History

Established in 1994.

Bistro 821 is the longest running restaurant on 5th Avenue South with a 30 year history. We are known for our seafood with the house favorite Miso Sake Seabass and Jumbo Prawns. We have a variety of dishes that will satisfy anyone's palate. We have amazing craft cocktails and a great wine list.

I started working in the restaurant business in the mid-80's. I began as a dishwasher at a Mexican Food restaurant on Cape Cod called Sam Diego's. After a few months I was promoted to Prep Cook and then quickly promoted to Line Cook. As soon I got on the line and got through my first night I was completely hooked. After working in several more restaurants I decided to go to Boston University and attend their new Chef Program. While attending, I worked with such chef's as Jacques Pepin, Julia Child, Todd English and Marcella Hazan. After successfully completing BU's Chef Program I worked as Sous Chef at Spinazzola's Restaurant, The Chanterelle and La Alouette.I moved to Naples and got a job at Michaels Café as Sous Chef. In 1994 I became the opening Chef at Bistro 821. I also helped open Bistro 41 in Ft. Myers as well as being the opening chef at Zoë's here in Naples.
