Trabocco brings something new and exciting to Alameda -- World-class Italian cuisine in a dynamic and exciting new restaurant. Chef-owner, Giuseppe Naccarelli presents a seasonally inspired menu of classic Italian dishes with a modern twist, influenced by the cuisine of his native region of Abruzzo. A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. Architect and Designer Lev Weisbach of Weisbach Architecture|Design was inspired by the beautiful Trabocchi of Abruzzo when he created his spectacular design. With its reclaimed wood ceilings, dramatic copper encased fireplace, and modern bar Trabocco is warm and welcoming yet strikingly dramatic and modern.

History

Established in 2013.

After nearly 20 years with Il Fornaio Restaurants, serving as Vice President of Kitchen Operations for his last 14 years with the company, Chef-Owner, Giuseppe Naccarelli branched out on his own with Trabocco. Located at Alameda's South Shore Center, Trabocco brings a locally owned, locally sourced Italian restaurant to Alameda.

Giuseppe Naccarelli was born and raised in the beautiful mountainous village of Palombaro, located in the southern part of the region of Abruzzo.  The small village of Palombaro with its strong sense of community was the perfect backdrop for an ideal childhood.  His passion for cooking blossomed at culinary school in at the Istituto Professionale Alberghiero di Stato where he spent five years learning all aspects of the restaurant and hotel industries.  Giuseppe joined Il Fornaio in 1994 as a Sous Chef and was quickly promoted to Chef at San Francisco's Levi's Plaza location, and later to Vice President of Kitchen Operations.He is proud and excited to bring Trabocco to his home of Abruzzo where he and his family have lived for over 14 years.
