About the Business
Specialties
Tin is a family-owned Vietnamese restaurant in SoMa. We invite you to experience what the San Francisco Chronicle calls "Vietnamese cuisine at its best: "fresh, brightly flavored dishes served up at affordable prices and with family pride" (SF Chronicle, April 2010). Conveniently located near Powell Bart station, Westfield shopping center, Intercontinental Hotel, Metreon, Yerba Buena, and Moscone Center.
History
Established in 2009.
One sibling came to America in 1980 and grew up in SoMa; the other grew up in Vietnam, where she began her professional career making cream puffs and eventually opening an eatery before emigrating with her family to America. Tin Vietnamese Cuisine is a place that celebrates the bonds forged through food.

Business owner information
Hung D.
Business Owner
After a number of years working in restaurants in SF, Hung opened Tin with his sister, Tran, who had just emigrated with her family from Vietnam. In Vietnam, Tran had begun her career selling cream puffs before opening a restaurant that served steamed rice rolls and mi quang, a traditional noodle dish from central Vietnam. The guiding principle for Tin Vietnamese Cuisine was simple: an inviting and warm place where friends and family can gather over delicious Vietnamese food.
