The founder and owner of The French Gourmet Inc. is Michel Malécot, a professional French Chef and astute businessman known throughout San Diego County both for his expertise as a Chef and as a firm believer in the quality control of his product.

Michel Malécot is the founder and President of The French Gourmet. located in Pacific Beach, California. The French Gourmet has been in business for 37 years and is primarily a full-service catering company supported by its own award-winning, casual French restaurant and traditional French bakery. Michel and his team have worked with some of San Diego's finest corporations and citizens to create memorable events marking the milestones of their personal and professional lives.Michel is a French Chef who trained in France and worked in Paris, London, and Germany prior to coming to the United States. He came to San Diego in 1976 where he worked as the Executive Chef and Manager of Le Côte d'Azur in La Jolla. In 1979 he left Le Côte d'Azur to open his own restaurant and catering business. Michel is known throughout San Diego County for his expertise as a culinary artist, a firm believer in quality control, and a "purist" when it comes to creating recipes using the finest ingredients.
