Established in 1922.
Originally established in 1922 as the Proctor Tavern, famous racing legend George Woolf purchased it in 1938 and renamed the establishment The Derby. Given its close proximity to Santa Anita Racetrack, The Derby became a favorite for horse racing enthusiasts and steak lovers alike. In any era, The Derby has excelled in pulling ahead of the pack and finishing as one of the premier steakhouses in Southern California. Their track record speaks for itself and will never be outdone.
