History

Established in 1976.

Our original owner came from Kansas City, Missouri in the late 1940's and built the restaurant in 1954. He built a brick oven(wood pit), where we smoke our meats slowly over big logs. He brought his cooking methods and barbecue sauce recipe with him, and we're still doing it the same way. In the 1970's the Schatz family bought the restaurant and continued the tradition. We have added numerous menu items including beef back ribs, baby back ribs, Louisiana Hot Links, soups, salads and other things to satisfy any taste. On 2019 MRC food group bought the Bear Pit and continued the tradition to keep satisfy all customers and promise the same flavor but more delicious to keep our Customers happy.
