History

Established in 1970.

Tanaka Farms is a family owned business located in the heart of Irvine. The farm started off farming and selling wholesale produce. Starting in 1996, we started giving walking tours to school groups of the farm. Starting in 1999 we started using tractor pulled wagons to bring groups of children out to the farm. Now in 2009 we have over 30,000 visitors a year taking tours of the farm.

Business Owner

Glenn Tanaka is a 3rd generation Japanese American.  He has been a life long farmer.  Glenn works very hard farming and now has gotten into the world of Agritourism.  Graduating from Cal Poly Pomona, Glenn never thought he would be teaching thousands of children and adults where their fruits and vegetables come from.  In this world of change Glenn has also developed a CSA (Community Supported Agrictulture) Program here at Tanaka Farms which is used as a fundraiser to help surrounding schools.
