About the Business

Specialties

Call us rebels, but we think every home and business in America should have fast, affordable access to the internet. No tyranny, no barriers. Internet freedom for all! Ambitious? Absolutely. We're unabashedly re-thinking, re-wiring and re-imagining the internet for homes and businesses and schools. Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, Sonic has delivered internet connectivity for the past 23 years. Today, alongside our rock solid internet and phone service, Sonic is building residential and business fiber-to-the-premise networks in Bay Area cities including San Francisco, all with our award-winning customer service and industry-leading privacy practices. With Sonic's Gigabit Fiber Internet connection, our fiber cables transfer data 1000 Megabits per Second, up to 50x faster than the average download speed in America. And with our symmetric Gigabit Fiber service, that speed goes both ways, meaning that the lightning-fast speed of your uploads now matches your downloads. Join us and find out how great the internet can be.

Business Owner

Dane Jasper is the CEO and Co-Founder of Sonic, the largest independent Internet Service Provider in Northern California. Dane is also the past president of the California ISP association, a trade group of independent providers in the state. Jasper co-founded Sonic in 1994, at a time when many people hadn't yet heard the terms internet, email address or World Wide Web. "As a 20-year industry veteran, I've seen a lot of change, but I remain committed to the concept of alternative competitive broadband access services." Under Jasper's guidance, Sonic established privacy policies that have become the industry's gold standard, and Sonic has received a perfect privacy score from the Electronic Frontier Foundation since the EFF's inception. Sonic is hailed for taking exceptional care of its customers.
