Piero Pierattoni has been in the restaurant business in Florence, Italy since he was 15 years old. His family owned Ristorante Mamma Gina in Florence. The restaurant did open on September 1986 on beautiful El Paseo Drive in Palm Desert, Ca. The consistency and the quality of food and service has allowed the restaurant to continue years after years and incredible success rarely achievable in this part of the world. The food is authentic and true to the "real thing". The Florentine and Tuscan cuisine is absolutely delicious ... Ristorante Mamma Gina originated in Italy and has made a home in Palm Desert for over 33 years! I grew up in Florence under my father Italo hard training and felt in love with this wonderful business..My father was second chef on board our the famous "Andrea Doria" (cruise ship) which went down in 1956 in front of Nantucket...Don't worry...at 89 is still alive and proudly still dancing  every afternoon...My Dad is really cool..Moved to the States in 1986 directly from Florence and opened up Mamma Gina in Palm Desert..Now the tradition is carry on from (other then me) Pier Giacomo (Jake) and Olivia, my wonderful children..Come in ...will really take care of you...Grazie e a presto
