Poesia's musts are the pasta - all made fresh in-house. We work with sustainable and local ingredients when possible, changing the menu based on the season. Old classic recipes are served with a modern twist.
Like several other options on our varying menu, our Tagliatelle alla Bolognese is a house favorite available gluten-free. We offer many vegetarian-friendly options in addition to your traditional Italian favorites and more fine-dining selections - polenta, tiramisu, eggplant parmigiana, filet mignon, and more.
History
Established in 2008.
Poesia's is Francesco d'Ippolito's first restaurant. Francesco is from Calabria (the tip of the toe of Italy) and his goal is to bring to the table the same flavor that he had back home.

I moved to San Francisco in 1999, and I worked in North Beach, managing different restaurants there. I finally got to the point where I was ready for my own restaurant and I find this wonderful little location in the heart of a colorful and happy neighborhood: The Castro.I reached to the best employees that had worked with me in the past and I started my little dream.
