Ohgane has a large variety of foods to chose from that would satisfy any palate. Of those many choices, we specialize in barbeque short ribs and cold noodles. Our cold noodles differ from others in it that it's not only handmade at the restaurant but it is also made with mungbean, a healthier choice for the conscious, in place of the traditional buckwheat. Recently, both dishes have been given universal attention from CBS' Taste of Korea and San Francisco Chronicle.

History

Established in 2002.

Ohgane's dishes originated from traditional family recipes that have been passed down through numerous generations. With their hearts and ultimate skill in creating delicious food, the Oh family believed it was only practical for them to share their passions with others. In the pass several years, Ohgane, the sophomore child of Koryo's original owner, has been locally recognized and beyond. Starting off as only a sit-down restaurant, Ohgane has expanded to include an upstairs banquet room with full audio capabilities and off-site catering as well.

Originally with only a few hundred dollars in her pocket, Micah Oh, worked her way through various obstacles and became an epitome of the American dream, all while achieving a tranquil balance between family and career. This leading figure of Oakland's Korean community began her entrepreneurial roots at weekend flea markets but stayed true to her dreams and eventually opened her first restaurant, Koryo, during the mid 90s. After a successful stint with the original Koryo, Mrs. Oh gave it up in favor of caring for her, then adolescent, daughter. When her daughter was ready to pursue a higher education, she returned to the restaurant business and opened Ohgane.
