About the Business
Specialties
Mutts is widely known for quirky, homestyle breakfast, lunch and dinner featuring large portions and an eclectic selection of 40 beers on tap served in 32 ounce schooners. We are also known as the home of Sunday Funday, where everyone can sing along to the jukebox, watch the game, and meet new and old friends over a giant Mimosa while enjoying our unbeatable ocean view!
History
Established in 1976.
The Original Mutt Lynch's restaurant was created by Dan and Gail Lynch and was located by the ferry at the Balboa Fun Zone. Mutts gets its name from Dan's father Emmit, who was nicknamed "Mutt" in his hometown in Iowa. Sadly, that Mutt Lynch's burned down, but some say that everything happens for a reason, because in 1982 Mutts was back! Relocated to its current spot on 23rd and Oceanfront in Newport Beach, it has one of the most gorgeous ocean views around. Dan and Gail are still the owners and strive to keep the traditions going, with a large selection of beer, giant portions, and quirky menu options. Mutts also keeps the Sunday Funday tradition going and, as always, is a great place for all generations.
