We dedicate ourselves to the growth and betterment of the community. We've provided a Braille menu for our visually impaired customers for years. We care about the environment. Our president, Madelyn Alfano, is a member of the Sierra Club. We've practiced recycling since 1975 and use biodegradable cleaning agents. We do not use Styrofoam. And we make water available only upon request, greatly reducing the amount of water used. We care about your health. We now use only rice bran oil for frying. Rice Bran Oil eliminates trans fats, has no funny aftertaste, helps lower serum cholesterol and is a great source of Vitamin E and antioxidants which combat the effects of aging. We limit fats and salt in food preparation, and upon request, we offer many dishes without added salt. We also do not use MSG in any food preparation and we use butter instead of margarine. We are still family owned. We just wanted you to know, we will always be your neighborhood restaurant!

Madelyn Alfano, one of California's most successful restaurant owners, believes that food is not just a necessity or pleasure, but a lifelong passion. Inspired by her parents and life in a large Italian family, Madelyn blends the finest ingredients, traditions, and new ideas with the best aspects of family life to create a truly unique dining experience at Maria's Italian Kitchen.Today, there are 8 Maria's Italian Kitchens (whose founder was her Mother Maria Alfano) creating jobs for 300 people. She is an active professional, serving as Chair for the Statewide California Restaurant Association; Foundation chair National Association of Women Business Owners Los Angeles and serves as the Co-Chair for the YPO International Hospitality Network. She sits on the Board of Advisors for the UCLA Anderson Business School and UCLA Undergraduate School. And President of Brentwood Chamber of Commerce.
