History

Established in 1946.

Three generations of hard work and family pride began in 1946 when John Kinder opened his first meat market in the Bay Area town of San Pablo, California. In 1985 Kinder's was relocated to Concord, California, and the business became a popular neighborhood meat market, deli and catering company - not to mention, the only place in town to get a marinated ball tip steak sandwich. After 65 years of growth, Kinder's now boasts 15 locations throughout Northern California and Nevada with both franchise and corporate locations. Kinder's are also gearing up for explosive growth in expanding their proprietary line of bbq sauces, marinades and more in retail market across the country.

Business Owner

Dan and Paula, purchased the business from Dan's father John Kinder in 1982 and relocated to Concord in 1985. He soon realized that his past and growing success has been based on his community involvement. Being genuinely involved with the community is personally rewarding and has been an integral part of the Kinder's success story. Paula Kinder has been a part of the Kinder family since her high school days. She has been a key player in the business and financial pieces of the family stores for over 25 years, and is the founder of P. K. Kinder Co., Inc. which manufactures and distributes Kinder's marinades and sauces. As the President of Kindustries LLC, Justin sets strategic direction and oversees the operation of the family-owned stores. Justin contributes product development, quality control and industry expertise for the retail brand and franchise efforts. Justin grew up in the business and has developed considerable knowledge of all facets of the food service industry.
