For almost 30 years now we've called Sunnyvale home, serving up traditional Italian dishes all made from scratch right here in house. We love seeing the look of delight on a guest's faces when they take that first bite, and it's hard not to smile when you're enjoying some gumbalicious pasta or a slice of hot, fresh pizza. Aside from the classics, we also serve a variety of signature salads, vegetarian options, and even weekend brunch to enjoy, as well. Whether you're stopping by for a workday lunch, dinner with the family, or heading out with friends for Sunday Funday, we're always here to welcome you!

History

Established in 1988.

Bob Sadri started and founded Gumba's Sunnyvale back in 1988. Bob risked his life savings to start an Italian Restaurant establishment in Downtown Sunnyvale. At that time, there were only 2 open (operating) restaurants in Downtown Sunnyvale (Murphy Avenue).

Business Owner

Max Antonio Valle, aka Tony, grew up in the bakery business that his father started in 1990. By working along with his parents at All Bakery, Tony learned that there is no substitution for hard work and that hard work, and determination, always pays off. At this bakery, Tony learned everything about the bakery business: how to make dough, how to bake, how to wash trays, how to take care of customers, how to market and sell, etc etc. Tony learned about business and salesmanship at a very early age. When Tony was eleven years old, he was already helping his grandfather, Florencio Villanueva, in his mini-mart in his home country. Prior to acquiring Gumba's Restaurant, Tony had an insurance and investments agency. Tony also had a successful career in the high-tech industry. Tony intends to ensure that the legacy of Gumba's founder continues to live for many generations to come.
