Established in 2017.

Inspired by Pancho Villa and the pistoleros of the Mexican Revolution, El Chingon is a new (bad ass) concept in the San Diego Gaslamp. With an exciting menu featuring some Mexican classics, we will serve only the best of the best when it comes to ingredients and spirits. Nothing makes great Mexican food better than a little something to quench your thirst! Aside from our curated selection of tequilas, mezcales and sotoles, we've carefully crafted a drink menu that will pair perfectly with any menu item or stand boldly alone like the Mexican Firing Squad or the Battle of Juarez! El Chingon is a 21+ venue.

GBOD Hospitality Group was founded in 2012 by brothers Raymond and Patrick Davoudi in San Diego with the opening of their first restaurant, Mezé Greek Fusion in the famous Gaslamp District. In 2014, the brothers had an opportunity to move and expand Meze to its current location in East Village. They also added two new partners, Joe Santos who has an extensive background in hospitality management and operations; and Aleko Achtipes, an experienced chef and back-of-house operations manager.
