Located in Oakland's lively Oaksterdam district, just around the corner from the City Hall. Cafe Van Kleef has become home to a very wide-ranging clientele of bohemians, artists, entrepreneurs, politicians & urban professionals of all ages. We originated as an art gallery and and from there expanded into our coffee bar, and eventually into our full bar!

History

Established in 2000.

A shared vision with Jerry Brown to maintain the essence of a true jazz bar atmosphere. We began near the historical building near Fox Theater and one of first business in the area, which grew the area to grow in restaurants and bars. We have been known to participate in the first Friday's of each month to welcome our customers with the experience of a jazz bar. We are proud to be part of the revitalization of the Oakland area and bringing you the top musical acts in the area. Our history includes many independent films that have shot their films here!
