History

Established in 1994.

BCB's story began nearly 20 years ago when two best friends, Jennifer and Kristee, had the vision to open a café in Hillcrest with tasty food and coffee drinks, friendly customer service and the best darn New York style Boiled and Baked BAGEL on the West Coast. Big City Bagel Company's dedicated owners and staff take pride in providing the Greater San Diego area with great eats, amazing drinks, and most importantly a welcoming atmosphere where customers feel like a "regular" whether it is your first time in or your 100th!

It is hard to believe it has been more than 20 years since we opened our doors in the Uptown District Shopping Center in Hillcrest.  We are a family owned business and have always taken pride in our restaurant and staff. We have enjoyed every minute of this journey.  We have had some amazing individuals who have worked with us past and present.  We have the best customers and "regulars" ever!Most days you will still see either Jennifer or Kristee in the shop and maybe even one of their husbands or kids helping out as well. Looking forward to another fantastic 20 years. Many thanks to all of you for your support of us and our BCB dream.
