History

Established in 1994.

BK first made its debut in Tucson in 1994. We started off as a Hot Dog Cart. Where did BK get its name? Myself, Benjamin and my wife, Kariela. A year after our debut we knew we would be working towards a formal establishment. Once we saw the success of our first location, we decided to open our second location in 2005 on the North side of the city. Today we have a team of around 90 employees. We have a goal in mind to continue to expand to 7 Restaurants in the city by 2020.Awards/Recognition? We were granted winners of Food Wars. New York Post 10 best hot dogs in America, Arizona Daily Star Best Tacos, National Geographic Best Place to Eat and Drink, Best Michelada.

Hi my name is Benjamin. I am the proud owner of BK Tacos. I lived in Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico. Living there I operated a cart of Burrito's and sold Hot Dogs. I also had a food stand where I sold Seafood. That was from 1991-93. In 1994 I came to live in Tucson, AZ. That is where I began my dream and established BK Carne Asada & Hot Dogs. I have 25 years dedicated to the restaurant industry and innovation. I developed my passion since a young age by being interested in the trade through flavors and innovation. I decided to open my own restaurant, after making the move to Tucson with my parents. I noticed the city did not offer truly authentic Sonoran  food and I thought it would be a good opportunity and decided to pursue it.
